
Motor vehicle mechanics in Mbarara city are appealing to the government to consider them as essential workers.
Hatidu Kagoro, one of the mechanics at Mbarara City Motors Garage noted that their life is also at risk since they are the ones who repairs ambulances, health workers vehicles among many others, who could have carried coronavirus unknowingly.

While meeting the Members of Parliament on the Trade, Tourism & Industry committee led by Mbarara city south MP Mwine Mpaka, to assess the impact of COVID-19 on the business community within Mbarara city at Lake View hotel over the weekend, Kagoro said if the government does them a favour, they will benefit in the ongoing vaccination exercise.
Commenting on the matter, Ritah Atukwatsa Bwahiika, the committee member on the Trade, Tourism & Industry who doubles as Mbarara City Woman Member of Parliament notes that the concern of mechanics needs agent attention.
