Uganda registers a fall in COVID -19 deaths and infections.

COVID-19 death dropped to the lowest level in this month, bringing happiness and hopes to the citizens concerning the progress of the pandemic.

According to the latest updates from Ministry of Health, indicates that a total of 14 people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

Adding the the above deaths statistics, means cumulatively a total number of 2,104 have died from the virus.

The same updates from MOH shows a slight drop in the new infections, which reduced to 522 from 615 on Saturday.

These results were done on 9 July 2021 the ministry said,  adding that the total test samples on that date were 5,629.

As of Sunday 11 July, the positivity rate stands at 9.3%, which is the lowest in the last one month.

The total number of people that have been infected with the virus stands at 87,227 cumulatively, since the first COVID-19 case was registered in Uganda in March 2020.

A total number of 912 recoveries were recorded in the last 24-hour period, bringing to a total of 61,304 cumulative recoveries from the virus.

Active cases on admission stands at 966 in health facilities currently, the ministry said.
