Police in Rukungiri are investigating the circumstances under which Amanya Edson 23, a resident of Kigarigari cell Nyakitabire parish Ruhinda sub county in Rukungiri district was murdered
Elly maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman says the deceased was on Friday morning left at home by his parents’ Twinamasiko James and Medius Twinamasiko who went to nearby gardens to harvest ground nuts.
Amanya Edson was later in the evening found lying dead in a pool blood on his bed with a deep cut on his throat.
Mate says unknown assailants who murdered the deceased, also robbed cash amounting to shs 200,000 from the deceased, and shs 930,000 was robbed from the parents’ bedroom.
The cases of murder and aggravated robbery were reported to Ruhinda police station by the father of the deceased.
The scene of crime was visited by D/Asp Nasuuna Harriet, team of homicide and uniformed personnel.
No exhibits were recovered, the body was taken to Rwakabengo health center III pending postmortem, inquiries have commenced.
