RUKUNGIRI – Lightning has struck a 58 year old man and injured two others in Rukungiri district.
The deceased, identified as Patrick Gareeba, a resident of Nyakitabata village in Bugangari sub-county, and the injured, identified as Evas Korugyendo, 57, and Harriet Tugume, 58, both from the same residence had taken shelter in Omukatooma Trading Centre yesterday evening when the scandal occurred.
Elly Maate, the Police Spokesperson for the Kigezi region says that Tugume and Korugyendo were rushed to Nyakibare hospital in Rukungiri Municipality where they are currently admitted, while the deceased’s body was handed over to the family members for burial.
