MBARARA City – Amama Mbabazi’s former head of security Christopher Aine has been appointed Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Mbarara city.
Aine who first came into news in 2016 general elections as the head of Security for the then presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi will be deputizing Lt. Col. James Mwesigye the Resident City Commissioner
Aine was during 2016 general elections campaigns accused of beating NRM supporters in Ntungamo District as Amama Team trailed Ntungamo district.
He was arrested by security operatives but later went missing in December 2016 only to be announced dead on social media.
He however resurfaced at the residence of Gen. Salim Saleh two months after the 2016 general elections.
He claimed he had been into hiding and decided to run to the general after failing to reach other top officials.
Christopher Aine has since then been out of news until he expressed interest to run for President of Uganda in the recently concluded presidential elections. when he picked nomination forms in October last year but never returned them.
Aine has Occupied a position which has been vacant ever since Emmy Katera was sent to Rwampara as acting RDC.
