Preview – Mbarara Target Revenge
Mbarara City will have revenge on their minds when they host Police FC at Kakyeka in one of three UPL games on Saturday.
The Ankole Lions lost the first round tie 3-1 on March 3, 2021 at Omondi stadium in Lugogo.
Defender Hassan Muhamood scored all the three goals for the Peace Keepers while Jude Ssemugabi scored the consolation.
Mbarara will bank on their recent form that saw the side beat title chasers Vipers 3-2 in a remarkable comeback performance at Kitende thanks to second half goals from Solomon Okwalinga, Bashir Mutanda and Jude Ssemugabi.
If they beat Police on Saturday, they will have won three games in a row for the first time this season. The win at Vipers came on the back of a 2-1 win against Onduparaka.
The side will hope to have coach Livingston Mbabazi back after the gaffer missed the trip to Kitende.
Police on the other hand, are facing hard times having gone five games without a victory since they beat MYDA 6-1.
During that spell, they have lost to Wakiso, Express and URA but picked draws off giants KCCA and SC Villa.
In fact, they have lost four away league games in a row!
