The Directorate of CID, in coordination with KMP territorial police, seeks public assistance in locating Dr. Eron Lawrence, a 56-year-old senior lecturer at Kyambogo University. Lawrence, who serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation and is the Project Administrator of “All We See is Possibility” at Kyambogo University, is wanted for Aggravated Defilement. He absconded police bond on December 14, 2023, after his case file was sanctioned on December 13, 2023.
Lawrence is accused of defiling a 16-year-old girl with a disability. Notably, he is HIV positive and holds a position of authority over the victim, constituting offenses under Penal Code Acts sections 129(3), 4(b), (c), and (d). The victim was a beneficiary of the “All We See is a Possibility” project.
His three sureties, Olobo Lawrence (aged 48), Adoch Gertrude, and Among Paul (aged 54), have been instructed to produce him before the DPC at Jinja Road Police Division.

The sequence of events reveals that Lawrence traveled with four students, including the disabled 16-year-old victim, to Nairobi, Kenya, for a conference. Upon their return on October 12, 2023, he dropped off two students from Gulu University and the third at North Hall, Kyambogo University. Lawrence remained with the visually impaired victim in his car.
Driving from around 10:20 pm to Namugongo Nsawo village, Kira municipality, Lawrence, and the victim stopped at a supermarket in Nalya for water. The victim fell unconscious after drinking the water. Upon regaining consciousness, she felt pain in her private parts, realizing she had been sexually assaulted within the car.
The victim’s maternal uncle drove her back to school in Mukono the following morning, and the Senior Woman teacher was informed of the incident, leading to reporting to Mukono police. The victim received immediate post-rape treatment. DNA samples from the suspect’s car matched those found on the victim’s body.
CID, in collaboration with crime intelligence and law enforcement partners, is actively working to locate the suspect. Public assistance is requested, and anyone with information can reach out to CID Headquarters, KMP Headquarters, or call the NOCC at 0776999136.
These incidents underscore the dangers faced by vulnerable disabled female victims in the community. Efforts will be made to trace and hold the suspect accountable for this heinous crime.
