LUUKA:

In a tragic turn of events, a 50-year-old businessman lost his life after being electrocuted by live electricity wires he had connected to catch thieves in his compound. The incident, which occurred on Monday, February 20 at around 4.00 am, has left the community in shock and mourning.

The deceased, Sulaiti Kaganda, was a well-known resident of Lumbuye zone Bulanga ward, Bulanga town council in Luuka district. According to reports, he had set up the live wires in an effort to protect his property from thieves, who had been targeting his home in recent weeks.

Unfortunately, it appears that the very trap he had set up to catch the thieves may have been the cause of his untimely demise. Police investigations suggest that Kaganda was allegedly attacked by a thief at his home, and in the process of chasing the intruder, he stepped on the live wires and was electrocuted to death.

The tragedy has left the community in shock, and many are questioning the effectiveness of such extreme measures to protect one’s property.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging caution and reminding residents to take appropriate measures to protect themselves and their property without putting themselves in harm’s way.
