He is a farmer, author, entrepreneur, ideologue, teacher and special adviser to the president of Uganda. He is child number five (5) in a family of seven (7) kids.
He was born on 17th Sep 1969 in Naama, Kinoni sub county, Nyabushozi constituency, Kiruhura district. He is a son of Late Thomas Rwabwogo and Late Mrs Erina Kebihembo Rwabwogo.
He attended Naama primary school, Kako Secondary school in Masaka and Bujaga secondary school then in Rwampara he joined Makerere University where he studied economics and political science. He got his first job from Mr James Tumusiime of fountain publisher of doing research about Uganda but he was still at university later he joined New Vision as a freelancer. He was a good mobilizer and participated vigorously in the NRA/M during CA- constitution Assembly mobilisation activities. He got a scholarship to study from Cardiff University in Wales where graduated with a master’s degree in journalism and media studies. While in UK he worked as a security guard for nine months and also worked in a tyre factory in the weekend.
He saved some money, bought a computer and other stationary stuff, and started his business TERP MEDIA immediately after returning to Uganda.
TERP stands for Thomas Erina, Rwabwogo and Penina. He named it after his parents and his elder sister Penina who dropped out of school so that Odrek Mugisha Rwabwogo can continue with his studies.
On 20th, July 2002 Odrek Rwabwogo got married to Pastor Patience Kokundeka Rwabwogo and they are happily married with four children. Two boys and two girls. In 2015 he contested for the position of NRM western region chairperson with Rtd Maj Gen Matayo Kyaligonza who later complained and threatened to leave NRM party of President Yoweri K Museveni and CEC members refused to stop him from the race.
Mr Odrek Mugisha Rwabwogo is the CEO of Thomas group and Terp Media which covers areas like; security, travel, agriculture, construction, real estate, manufacturing etc that employ thousands of UGANDANS.
In July 2021 he was appointed as special adviser to H.E President Yoweri K Museveni on special duties. His work focuses on promoting the country on the world stage, driving exports (particularly in the agricultural sector) and implementing training programmes for the people of UGANDA.
Odrek M Rwabwogo is a disciplined cadre of NRM party, hard-working and patriotic citizen that understands what common people at the grassroots goes through everyday because he is always there with them.
