Kaaro karungi | Rukungiri – Police in Rukungiri are investigating the death of Amon Nuwagaba, who was attacked and hit with hammer inside his room at Amazon lodge on Thursday.
The deceased Amon Nuwagaba, booked a room for a night at Amazon lodge next to Rohobathy hotel in Rukungiri town on Thursday evening.
However, unknown assailants hit him with a hammer which led to his death.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesperson told Kaaro karungi Newsthat the deceased was given room number 04 after paying 10,000 UGX where unknown assailants found him at un known time and hit him on the head with a hammer.
Maate told Kaaro Karungi News that they later disappeared unnoticed to unknown direction leaving the hammer at the scene of crime.
The Police PRO revealed that the lifeless body of Amon was on Friday morning discovered by Prossy Kyogabirwe a lodge attendant who went to check on the clients as usual and found a padlock.
“ Moments later, she decided to go back with a spare key to remove bed sheets for cleaning, on opening she found the victim in a pool of blood, that’s when she informed one other staff Ninsiima shallon who informed the husband, Herbert Tumushabe the owner of the lodge, and he also notified police of Rukungiri.”
So far two people; the owner of the lodge Herbert Tumushabe and Prossy have been arrested to help in investigations, according to Maate.
