Tragedy struck on Thursday morning when two students from Midland High School in Kaberamaido District were killed and 31 others injured in a bus accident near Awoja Primary School in Soroti district.
The Senior Six students were on their way to Jinja for a study tour when the bus they were traveling in, which belonged to Busitema University-Arapai Campus, rammed into a stationary trailer from behind.
The acting East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, John Robert Tukei, said that the accident occurred at around 4:00 am. The 31 injured students were rushed to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital.
The police have yet to identify the dead and injured students.
